Sessions are for 50 minutes.
Payment can be by cash, cheque or bank transfer. Credit cards are not accepted.
A cancellation fee will apply when less than 24 hours notice is given
Emily Scanlan’s psychological services have been approved by WorkCover and. She has a current WorkCover approval number.
You may be eligible to have your sessions paid for by WorkCover if you have suffered a psychological injury in the workplace.
You will require a referral from a GP or Psychiatrist. You must bring a signed WorkCover medical certificate to your appointment. The treatment plan will need to stipulate that psychological services are required.
An injured worker is entitled to choose their psychologist, as long as that psychologist has been approved by WorkCover.
Emily Scanlan is a registered provider with Medicare.
To be able to claim the Medicare rebate, you will need to see your GP to discuss your eligibility.
If suitable, your GP will formulate a General Practitioner Mental Health Treatment Plan (GPMHTP).
When the GP registers you with Medicare for the GPMHTP, you may request the psychologist of your choice.
Alternatively, the GP can refer you to a psychologist he or she recommends.
You may be entitled to a rebate for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year. This requires 6 initial sessions, followed by a review with your GP regarding your progress. The doctor will then decide if you need for an additional 4 sessions.
The current rebate for a 50+ minute session with a psychologist is $84.80
Many private health funds provide a rebate for sessions with a psychologist.
